Green Connections
Sustainable Business Conference

(Click on any of the pictures for a closer look)

On Monday, October 18, 2010 Green Connections held their first Sustainable Business Conference at Earth Rangers in the Kortright Conservation Area. Green Connections member Ontario Energy Matrix was the main sponsor for the event. Their great solar energy array stood as sentinels welcoming conference goers as they arrived on site.

Cathy Nesbitt, Chair of Green Connections and emcee for the day, opened up the conference with her usual positive and passionate energy. She was truly a Green-Force.

Speakers:

All of the speakers gave inspired and thought provoking talks on
environmental topics and trends.

Keynote speaker: Bob Willard spoke on Why the Sustainability Option Just Became the Sustainability Imperative. Citing many reasons; economic, environmental and social why business must embrace the Green Economy.

Karen Verbeek gave a fascinating talk on Biomimicry. There is a lot we can learn from nature!

Sue McKee talked about a new phenomena sweeping the planet, Transition Towns. A look at how we can respond to the challenges and opportunities of Peak Oil and Climate Change.

Vendors and Networking:

As always, networking and getting the Green Word out is an important part of any
Green Connections meeting.

Thank you to our Conference Sponsors:

A special thank you to A Greener York for recording this event.
